WELCOME TO GIVE US FREE RECORDS!!
“Give Us Free” are the words spoken by Djimonde Hounsou, in the movie, Amistad, about the enslavement of Sengbe aka Cinque, and other Africans stolen and sold into Slavery. Cinque led the revolt against the enslavers and was later captured. Finding himself detained and on trial, he explained to his counsel that all he wanted was freedom—“Give Us Free.” This is the spirit behind Give Us Free Records. We understand that people need a way to identify and categorize the music, but we want to be free to do all music that moves the spirit and touches the heart. Although our music is for Grown Folks, it is for anyone with a free mind and an open heart.
